RETURN AND REFUND POLICY
Last updated: August 11, 2026
Zen Publishers provides customized publishing-identity services, including ISBN administration, metadata preparation, imprint stewardship, Bookland barcode production, QRPlus reader-connection codes, publishing bundles, and annual stewardship services. Because these services involve individualized preparation and assets created for a specific publication or client, refund eligibility depends on the stage of fulfillment.
CANCELLATIONS BEFORE WORK BEGINS
A customer may request cancellation for a full refund before Zen Publishers begins reviewing submitted materials, preparing metadata, assigning or reserving an ISBN, generating a barcode or QRPlus code, or performing another purchased service.
To request cancellation, contact Zen Publishers promptly through the Contact page and include the order number and purchaser’s name.
SERVICES IN PROGRESS
Once intake review, metadata preparation, ISBN assignment or reservation, barcode production, QRPlus creation, consultation, or another individualized service has begun, the order becomes final and ineligible for cancellation or refund.
An ISBN assigned to a publication creates a permanent bibliographic relationship between that identifier, the publication, and its publisher or imprint. Completed ISBN assignments cannot be transferred to another publication, format, edition, client, or publisher.
Each format or materially different edition may require a separate ISBN. Customer decisions involving title, subtitle, author name, imprint, format, edition, publication date, or other metadata should be finalized before assignment.
CUSTOMER-PROVIDED INFORMATION
Customers are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and approved information. Zen Publishers fulfills each order using the materials and instructions submitted by the customer.
Changes requested after approval, production, or ISBN assignment may require a new service purchase, replacement asset, additional ISBN, or revision fee. Zen Publishers will explain any additional cost before beginning the requested work.
ZEN PUBLISHERS ERRORS
If Zen Publishers makes an error in a deliverable, Zen Publishers will correct the affected deliverable without additional charge. The customer must report the issue within 14 calendar days after delivery and provide the order number and a clear description of the discrepancy.
Corrections cover errors introduced by Zen Publishers. Changes arising from customer-supplied information, revised creative decisions, altered publication plans, or information approved by the customer fall under customer-requested revisions.
DIGITAL AND CUSTOM DELIVERABLES
Completed digital and custom deliverables, including ISBN confirmation records, metadata summaries, Bookland barcodes, QRPlus codes, and related publishing-identity materials, are final upon delivery.
Compatibility issues caused by later modifications, third-party platforms, printing specifications, altered files, or customer-selected production methods may require additional service.
ANNUAL STEWARDSHIP AND RENEWALS
Annual stewardship services cover the purchased service period. A customer may cancel a future renewal before the renewal date. Fees for a service period that has already begun or been completed are final.
Cancellation of a stewardship renewal ends future service at the close of the current paid period. Previously assigned ISBNs and completed publishing records remain connected to the publication and publisher information associated with them.
DUPLICATE OR INCORRECT CHARGES
Report a duplicate or incorrect charge through the Contact page within 14 calendar days of the transaction. Zen Publishers will review the payment record and correct any verified billing error.
REFUND PROCESSING
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Financial institutions and payment processors determine when credited funds appear in the customer’s account.
